Democrat Demagogue and Double Standards on Immunity

At the height of Russian Collusion delusion, Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA 15th) was almost an omnipresent figure on cable television.  When rumors that immunity would be given to those alleged to be involved in Russiagate, Swalwell repeatedly demagogued: "Innocent people do not ask for immunity!"

Just before the DOJ Inspector General  David Horowitz publicly releases a report about the Clinton Email coverups, fired Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe has reportedly asked for immunity in order to testify before Congress.

Wonder if Swalwell will invoke the diurnal Democrat double standard about innocence and immunity?

Chaffets: FBI Handed Out Immunity Like Candy

Representative Jason Chaffets (R-UT 3rd), the Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, expressed exasperation at trying to bring justice to the Clinton Email case. The news that Hillary Clinton's 25 year aide-de-camp Cheryl Mills allowed access to her computers only if federal investigators gave her immunity.  Chaffets quipped that immunity was being handed out like candy.

House Oversight Chair Jason Chaffets chary about number of FBI immunity grants on Clinton Email case

Bryan Pagliano, the IT "expert" who Hillary turned to in order to dispose of her unwanted State Department emails, was granted immunity but refused to testify before Congress despite being subpoenaed. Immunity deals were also proffered to Clinton aide Heather Samuelson and then State Department Information Resource Management Director John Bethel.

Although it is little solace from those suffering from too many sweets, Uncle Sam ought to remember that too many candies rots the teeth, like the respect for the rule of law.

Destroying Blackberry Alibis

As Congress investigated the Benghazi bungle, the House Select Committee subpoenaed then Obama Secretary of State and now Democrat Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton (D-NY) for her communication devices.

The FBI's pre-Labor Day data dump included news that the FBI never received Secretary Clinton's eight State Department Blackberries.

The FBI also sought five other mobile devices as part of the inquiry, but Mrs. Clinton's lawyers could not provide any of these devices.  One source indicates that two of Hillary's devices were destroyed by breaking them in half or by hammer.  That is a lot of trouble for emails about wedding dresses and Yoga.

This seemed like another instance of Clinton stonewalling and obstruction of justice.  But the salient detail about destruction of the communication devices presented an opportunity for Hillary critics to put the hammer down.

Fox News personality and strong Trump supporter Judge Jeanine Pirro, used her "Street Justice" segment to put to a lie that it was easy to break Blackberries so as not to turn them over to the FBI or the DOJ.

DOJ Stonewall on Hillary Clinton Aides' Email Fails

Citizens United David Bossie on Hillary Email Server Production

The Justice Department was handed a pair of decisions rejecting motions to stay requests from Citizens United and Judicial Watch regarding emails by then Secretary of State and current Democrat Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton and her key staffers Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills. U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan noted that the government has not contended that it was unable to comply with the production deadline thus arguments for judicial economy and "the interest of justice", the original deadlines which were set in May 2015 holding.

Stop Being Such a Groober!

Dr. Jonathan Gruber, PhD, the wunderkind Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) economist who was the co-author consultant of Obamacare finally had a chance to explain his "stupid" comments on Capitol Hill.  Government Reform member Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC 4th) had said that: "[W]hen you have an insomniac with Tourette's Syndrome, you let him keep talking..." in reference to the glib Mr. Gruber coming to Washington.  The arrogant elitist from M.I.T. did not disappoint.

Dr. Jonathan Gruber, Ph.D testifying before House Government Reform Committee 12/09/2014

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH 4th) asked Mr. Gruber how much he earned from his consulting for the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare).  The ordinarily adroit academic amazingly could not remember how much Gruber garnered from his Obamacare contracts.  The reality is that Dr. Gruber earned $400,000 from HHS,  $2.1 million from the National Institute of Health (NIH), $1.7 million from the Department of Justice (DOJ), $100,000 from the State Department and there were other state contracts in conjunction to Obamacare.  It figures that such a smart economist did not want to go on the record for how much he bilked American taxpayers and then called them "stupid".

When Congressman Gowdy got around to questioning Dr. Gruber, Gruber was impeached by his prior statements. Gruber's smugly tried to squirm from his statements by claiming that he was trying to make himself sound smarter than he actually was.  That is about as believable as President Obama's promise: "If you like your health care plan than you can keep it."

As Gowdy promised when Gruber's "stupid" comments finally caught the national attention in mid-November, the former federal prosecutor asked Gruber if he was sorry because he said it or because he meant it.  The economist's answer was as credible as the rest of his testimony.

While the Feinstein Intelligence  Report condemning decade old interrogation tactics by the CIA might have provided sufficient public cover for the day, the American people are not fooled by throwing one academic under the bus..  As more insured individuals are thrown into Obamacare and the Cadallac health care tax comes into being,  smarmy  delay tactics from the District of Calamity (sic)  will not salve the ire of the American body politic.

However, Republicans should not rest on their laurels.  The GOP won an impressive victory in the midterm elections under the banner of rolling back Obamacare.  If those words were mere wind, the wintery winds of discontent from the middle class can easily make those political gains from the GOP- Cocktail Party may well also be gone with the wind, presuming that voters resist being groobered by bread and circuses.

Weiner-Holder: That's The Ticket?

Weiner-Holder 2016: Why not?

Ex Rep. Anthony Weiner's 2011 sexting shirtless photo
Democrats do not seem to have problems keeping sleezebags in office.  Even after his "selfie" sexting with a minor scandal cause former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY 9th) to give up his seat in Congress, Weiner has still made a comeback as a leading New York City mayoral candidate.  And with the revelation of one of Weiner's sexting pseudonyms "Carlos Danger", he's made forays into pandering to Hispanics.

Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder has managed to hold on despite state sponsored gun running with Mexicans, not enforcing the law with DOMA, pursuing the Fort Hood Terrorism case as "workplace violence" or completing the Philadelphia Black Panther voter intimidation case. Of course A.G. Holder's legacy includes extensively spying on the press, just in case the lap dog lamestream media doesn't play ball.

It would make for a fast and furious campaign. In addition, it would show how Democrats would try to hold onto power no matter who's fronting the ticket.

A Bit of DOJ Pride--PC Anarcho-Fascism

In advance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Pride Month in June, the Department of Justice was internally circulating a document entitled “LGBT Inclusion at Work: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Managers.”

***

There are some sensible suggestions in the policy propaganda,  such as avoiding offensive jokes (and cracking down on subordinates who engage in such off color humor).  But this extends to adjectives that might be considered pejorative, like “sissy” or “pansy”.

The DOJ document mandates some double speak.  Managers are mandated not to use terminology like “trannny”, “the gay lifestyle” or “sexual preference” that some might consider offensive.  Manager are told that inclusive words like “partner” or “spouse” ought to be used rather than gender specific “husband” and “wife”.

Aside from scrubbing language from common descriptive words that have no negative intent but are not inclusive or recognizing traditional social arrangements, DOJ Pride gives a place of pride to alternative lifestyle activists. The document “suggests” that employees should be allowed to attend LGBT-focused professional professional advancement activities, like the LGBT Bar Association and Out and Equal Workplace Advocacy conferences, presumably on company time and the taxpayers dime.

What is really troubling is mandating what must be done if an employee comes out to you.  Rather than state the law or the Department’s presumed policy of non-discrimination or being judged on your work performance, the pamphlet notes that managers should not judge them or remain silent.  The document deigns that  "Silence will be interpreted as disapproval”.  The only correct response to such unsolicited sharing is “interest and curious.”  And managers are muscled to display LGBT paraphanalia in their office to let their subordinates know that it is a safe workplace.  So if a manager holds contrary mores, they must not state their preference or bite their tongue but ought to approve of their employee’s choices

DO assume that LGBT employees and their allies are listening to what you’re saying (whether in a meeting or around the proverbial water cooler) and will read what you’re writing (whether in a casual email or in a formal document), and make sure the language you use is inclusive and respectful.”

Of course professionalism is expected in conducting oneself in a workplace.  But it is a little troubling about having the expectation that “LGBT employees and THEIR ALLIES” (my emphasis) watching over one’s shoulder.   With the broad swathes of group-think (banishing husband/wife language, or references to sexual preference and the gay lifestyle), this is creating an adversarial environment which accusations of politically incorrect statements (not even using unprofessional expressions for an office place) could well be used as a cudgel against traditional Christians.  It could be an undefensible accusation which does not use a reasonable person’s standards but operates on the contingency if someone claims to be offended.

This arbitrary and ambiguous standard sounds similar to the new Department of Education edict which lowered the standards of what constitutes sexual harassment”.

Fast and Furious Fumbling on Obama Administration Transparancy

Considering the dearth of documents that the Attorney General Eric Holder and the DOJ produced to the House Government Oversight Committee (and the spurious last minute Executive Privelege claim), this totally blacked out document held up by Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA 49th) puts to lie the claim President Obama made that his would be the most transparent Administration ever.

Was President Obama's 21 January 2009 declaration of transparency just rhetoric or is it reality?
