On the Buckeye Jihadi and Political Correctness
When there were early reports of a mass casualty incident at The Ohio State University, progressive politicians instinctively inveighed against gun violence.
The reality was that the perpetrator ran his car into a crowd of people, then exited the vehicle randomly attacking the stunned students with a butcher knife until being shot dead by a law enforcement officer. The campus was put on lockdown until the incident ended. About a dozen innocent people were injured, one critically.
As details emerged from the act of terrorism, it became clear that the attacker was a Somalia transfer student to Ohio State. At the beginning of the year, the attacker had been interviewed by the student newspaper about practicing his Muslim beliefs on campus. His social media posts praised jihad. ISIS exulted the Buckeye jihad. Yet an Ohio State Residents Life official tried to squelch any bad news about their fellow Buckeye in social media, while simultaneously promoting Black Lives Matter.
One wonders if the university experience is now education a costly political correct indoctrination with supposed safe space for licentiousness.

Lt. General Michael Flynn on Shaking Things Up
President Elect Donald Trump has named Lt. General Michael Flynn (ret.) as his National Security Advisor. During the Obama Administration, Flynn had served as the Director of National Intelligence but retired a year early, because of clashes over managerial style and vision for the DIA. Flynn was outspoken about the need to combat the threat of Islamic terrorism.
Since the National Security Advisor need not have Senate confirmation, Flynn will not have impediments to share his thoughts with the President after the inauguration.

Josh-ing Earnestly (sic): "We're in a War of Narratives"
White House spokesman Josh Earnest appeared on MSNBC's "The Morning Joe" to mollify public concerns over the weekend after an IED bomb exploded in Manhattan on a marathon route, attempted bombs in New Jersey and eight people being stabbed by a Somali shouting "Allahu Akbar" in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Earnest insisted that the Obama Administration is engaged in a "War of Narratives", touting the inroads he believes it has made on social media.
The two salient questions are against whom are Obama allies are engaged in a War of Narratives? In addition, will this go any better than LBJ's War on Poverty?

On the ISIS Inspired Atrocity in Normandy
Two terrorists aligned with ISIS took hostages during a morning Mass in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray in Normandy France. The Muslim terrorists forced Fr. Jacques Hamel to kneel at the altar and then they slit the throat of the 84 year old curate as they reportedly videotaped the brutality.
Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi. S.J., lamented the martyrdom of Fr. Hamel, noting: “We are particularly
stricken because this horrible violence occurred in a church — a sacred place
in which the love of God is proclaimed — with the barbaric killing of a priest."

Terrifying Language Lesson
Such a terrifying language lesson needs to be learned by leaders after the Olympia Mall shooting in Munich, the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, the San Bernadino shooting, and even after the 2009 massacre at Fort Hood, Texas.

Turkish President Erdogan on the Streetcar of Democracy
There was a coup attempt by the Turkish military to overthrow long time Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan. As Ralph Peters surmised on Fox News, it seems that it was undertaken by lower ranks of the Turkish military as a last ditch attempt to save secular society from an Erdogan inspired Islamization by the few forces which have not been purged by the autocratic Erdogan.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and President Obama have come out in favor of supporting the duly elected government in Turkey. Hence, their support of Erdogan was for the winner of a a one party election which is rapidly overhauling Attaturk's secular state with one that is more sharia compliant, for an official who has backed Obama bete noir Assad in Syria and who complicated military tactics in overthrowing Iraq's Saddam Hussein in 2003.
As Erdogan's flippant appraisal of the Streetcar of Democracy shows: Turkish Democracy is here today and Erdagon tomorrow. Next stop, Berlin 1933!
