Rock and Roll icon Bruce Springsteen disappointed fans and promoters by cancelling a scheduled concert in Greensboro, North Carolina on short notice in order to protest North Carolina's enactment of "the Bathroom Bill" which negated the city of Charlotte's ordinance allowing for transgendered persons to use whatever bathroom they feel comfortable using at that moment.
Springsteen's cancellation follows a passel of progressive jurisdictions, like San Francisco, Chicago, New York State in barring official travel to the Tar Heel State after North Carolina Governor Patrick McCrory (R-NC) signed the bill.
Sports leagues have also inserted themselves into progressive politics. The NBA is threatening to withdraw the city of Charlotte's bid to host the 2017 All Star Game. If the NBA renegs on its commitment, it could negate an estimated $100 million windfall unless North Carolina relents on the bathroom bill
