Some consider the Nation’s Capital as “Fantasyland on the Potomac”. Other outsiders are “Fed Up” with the Federal City. It's better to consider D.C. as “the District of Calamity” (sic).
It is dubious if Congressman Gowdy's say about the Senate's Advice and Consent role is dispositive, as that is not a duty of the House of Representatives. Still, as a Conservative, it is likely that Gowdy would note that the Senate may choose to do nothing and that is a legitimate choice. That is unlike President Obama refusing to enforce immigration laws which is directly in conflict with his oath of office.
