Conventional wisdom is that a politician must govern different than he campaigns. Despite his record number of fundraisers, the Obama 2012 campaign managed to spend more than they took in during June. Much to their chagrin, the alluvia of early ads in battleground states did not stimulate support for the incumbent. This Obama re-election campaign might change the paradigm.
Unfortunately for Obama 2012 campaign contractors, the Federal government can print money (or engage in another round of quantitative easing) to cover their spending indulgences but political campaigns do not have that magic ability. They had better believe in Obama's new slogan "We are all in this together", because in the end that may be all the payoff that they get.
