Some consider the Nation’s Capital as “Fantasyland on the Potomac”. Other outsiders are “Fed Up” with the Federal City. It's better to consider D.C. as “the District of Calamity” (sic).

April Fools Day in the District of Calamity
Actually, President Obama did declare March 31st Cesar Chavez Day. Considering all of the consternation that Google incited by honoring the labor leader instead of an Easter doodle, the latter declaration seems apt.
