Some consider the Nation’s Capital as “Fantasyland on the Potomac”. Other outsiders are “Fed Up” with the Federal City. It's better to consider D.C. as “the District of Calamity” (sic).
Considering Michael Avenatti's 13th hour unsubstantiated claims against Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, it's no wonder that Fox New's Tucker Carlson calls this self proclaimed Democrat fighter a Creepy Porn Lawyer. Yet Avenatti thinks that he can be a viable Democrat Presidential candidate in 2020.
After the way that Establishment Republicans acted in their profligate $1.3 TRILLION for the remaining six months of FY 2018 in the Omnibus spending bill, one wonders if how Republicans ought to be portrayed.
Traditionally, the Grand Old Party's symbol is an elephant (remember?). Cynics charge that they should be exposed as RINOs. But considering they way many Congressional Republicans change from being a fiscally conservative party when they strive for power and then profligately spend when they are in charge, perhaps they would be better depicted as conservative chameleons. But can they survive if the proverbial swamp is drained in the District of Calamity (sic).
As Tucker Carlson reported on the Podesta Group's connection to Paul Manafort, who was just indicted by the Mueller Special Counsel, the Fox News host revealed how Tony Podesta tried to coerce sanitized coverage of the Mueller Russian Coercion probe via lawfare.
As Carlson noted, this sort of intimidation tactic is a favorite tool for the Podesta Group.
It seems that Hillary's army is using standing orders to intimidate and obfuscate. Hillary activists on social media pushed back on the Russian scandals by demanding to know EXACTLY what she did wrong regarding Uranium One. Of course, this is impossible to tell when government documents were stored on personal servers (violation of law on classified documents) and then shredded or wiped clean at Secretary Clinton's discretion (violation of customary State Department procedure as well as the Government Documents statutes). These missing documents may detail how the Clinton Foundation received large donations (which was a violation of the Clinton/Obama Memorandum of Understanding in 2009) and former President Clinton received vastly inflated speaking fees from Russian interests right after the approval process. But since we can't say EXACTLY what Mrs. Clinton did, we should feel intimidated to even mention it at all. But for a conspiracy, one does not have to directly point to any particular action.
Just over a half century ago, the University of California Berkeley led the Free Speech Movement, which inspired many of the political and cultural changes that started in the 1960s. Free Speech meant having tolerance for differing opinions and uncomfortable speech.
Three groups invited Ann Coulter to speak at Berkeley on April 27, 2017. The University Administration made all sorts of nigglesome demands, such as requiring expensive bonds for security, limiting the talk to students and even demanding that the event occur during the day. As she was determined not to be the one to cancel, Coulter agreed to all of these "ridiculous" demands, with the request that any rioting students be expelled. Still Cal Berkeley Administrative offices sought to cancel the event.
Unlike Yiannopoulos and Horowitz, Ann Coulter is both an established agitating author who can make the television circuit. So instead of just accepting Berkeley cancelling her speaking event, Coulter took to television to ridicule and challenge the imperial leftist Berkeley chancellor, vowing to go to campus anyways to speak.
After just one day of bad press, Berkeley Chancellor Nicholas Dirks backtracked, In announcing that Coulter's speech could be rescheduled to May 2nd, Dirks wrapped himself around the rhetoric of the free speech movement, but did not specify the secure venue where the event would occur.
This P.R. recovery move by the Berkeley Chancellor was too clever by half. In seeking to staunch the unflattering image, the date was moved to when there would be no classes held. Moreover, because of the last minute switcheroo, additional expenses would be incurred. In addition, Dirks did not check with the inconvenienced speaker. For her part, Coulter claims that she is unavailable May 2nd and is going to appear anyways on April 27th.
UC Berkeley Chancellor Nicholas Dirks
UC Berkeley Chancellor Dirks was slated to resign in August, 2016 because of widespread criticism from the faculty for the way he handled a sexual misconduct claim and budgetary deficits, yet he still remained. After besmirching Berkeley's reputation for being the bastion of the Free Speech Movement, one wonders why he still has a job. Furthermore, inquiring minds are interest on University of California Chancellor Janet Napolitano's perspective.
After the University of California anti-free speech riots, the Mayor of Berkeley tried to blame the unrest on the speaker Milo Yiannapoulos by smearing him as a white supremacist.
Several hours later, Mayor Jesse Arreguin revised his statement to label Yiannopoulis as a "white nationalist" in lieu of a "white supremacist". Neither smear seems to fit the libertarian leaning, flamboyantly homosexual Trump supporter.
But claiming that Yiannopoulos might have engaged in "hate speech" had he been given the chance to speak seems to be the key for liberals to excuse mob violence to silence dissent at the supposed home of the free speech movement.
In the midst of the liberal post election meltdown, progressives are pushing the idea that unless America accepts all undocumented aliens then they are racists as they suppose is President Elect Trump. Conservatives are pushing back on this smug conceit. On Tucker Carlson Tonight, a youthful anti-Donald Trump protester had to grapple with the question about America having a wide open door for anyone to come in.
