Examining Obama's Environmental Obsessions on Cow Farts

Once again, the Obama White House is seeking to clean up the environment by cutting down cow farts.  In June, the USDA, EPA, and DOE will release "Biogas Roadmap" in conjunction with the dairy industry to outline "voluntary strategies" to reduce agricultural methane output by 25% in 2020.  

While we will have to wait to learn the details of the road-map , it is reasonable to assume that there is not a  catalytic converter to be placed on each cow as has been done for scientific studies.

 Thus, it is likely to mean that the agricultural industry will be pressured to reduce their livestock by what could be called a cow fart tax.  This would adversely affect small cattle ranchers as well as reduce the cows available to abattoirs and dairies.  

What does higher taxes, less product and constant demand mean?  Price increases for consumers with the potentiality of bail outs for any losses to big agricultural producers.  And Americans are nudged to comply with Global Warming and Agenda 21 goals, all without legislation or input from the people.  How convenient!

This crusade against cow farts is nothing new. In late 2008, the EPA sought to regulate agricultural methane emissions through a tax which would amounted on a $175 per head levy on cattle.    Even President Ronald Reagan rightly realized that trees cause more pollution than automobiles do".  

Although methane emissions have fallen by 11% since 1990, fact do not get in the way of agenda environmentalist.  Progressives want to control ordinary people's lives via the Nanny State to force their agenda without their consent.  This sort of nudge fits into Obama's pre-election vow of "fundamentally transforming the United States of America."

Yet it is unlikely that the elite will live by those same rules.  But as George Orwell observed in Animal Farm (1946):  "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".  Much like bovine flatulence-- it stinks.

Savage Hate Speech?

As the A&E network suspension of Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson for comments published in GQ  magazine which paraphrased 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 of examples of egregious sinfulness, homosexual activists have been seeking publicity calling for the show's cancellation. In case Phil Robertson's comments concerning homosexuals isn't enough for the celebrity sacrifice,   Progressive fellow travelers have been piling on to the public feeding frenzy pointing to Phil Robertson's un-acrimonious experiences working side-by-side with black in the pre-Civil Rights South.

These ad-hominem attacks lack the charity to even read Phil Robertson's comments in context and entirety.  Phil Robertson has been painted as a "hater" so he must be destroyed, as a Bible believing Christian can not share his faith in the public square if it does not conform to the liberal fascism's politically correct version of the "new normal" which is the party line today. Phil Robertson was such a "hater" (sic) that he received news of his A&E suspension while praying with a church member afflicted with cancer.

Dan Savage is an outspoken homosexual writer who has published the "Savage Love" sexual advice column since 1991.  Savage  also has been heavily involved in founding the "It Gets Better Project" since 2010, which is meant to counsel teenagers questioning their sexuality and those who choose to embrace alternative lifestyles from committing suicide.  As noble as those Savage's endeavors may be, Savage has repeatedly made at best intemperate remarks aimed at his "enemies".  In 2012, Savage was speaking at an anti-gay bullying high school rally when he insulted bible believing Christians and taunted teens who walked out as making a "pansy assed move".  Recently, Savage offered a "dangerous idea" on Australian television that abortions should be mandatory for women under the age of 30.  Where was the hue and cry from the media?   What is hate speech? Does it really get better?  

As George Orwell asserted in Animal Farm (1945)   "All animals are equal but some are more equal than others."  

Some Political Animals Are More Equal Than Others

 President Barack Obama is poised to make a recess appointment to name Richard Cordray as the director of the newly formed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. According to the Constitution, Executive Branch appointments must receive the advice and consent of the Senate, unless it in recess so the President can make a temporary recess appointment. In this case, the problem is that the Senate is technically still in session, albeit in a pro forma manner...

 In 1945, George Orwell wrote Animal Farm, an allegory about totalitarianism which famously posits “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal to others.” But the way the Obama Administration is governing, political animals between the beltways should brush up on progressive President Woodrow Wilson’s favorite novel Philip Dru Administrator: A Story of Tomorrow which makes dictator into a good word.
