Sharyl Attkisson, an award winning investigative reporter for CBS News for over 20 years, has acute insight on the timidity of today's American journalists. She was Stonewalled (2014) by the Obama White House for asking uncomfortable questions to the Executive Branch. Attkisson had to leave the Tiffany Network for her own venue to continue to report with integrity.
It is much easier for "jo-whore-nalists" to ask non-probing questions and rely upon press releases to ensure easy access to those in power. And this does not even consider how reporters, who lean 90 percent liberal, shade inconvenient truths and toss softball questions to help politicians with whom they are ideologically aligned.
No wonder the so called "White House stenographers with press credentials" gave Hillary Clinton a standing ovation at a Journalistic excellence ceremony without taking questions, despite the former Secretary of State being embroiled in the ClintonEmail scandal.
